Flemish Guy

Every month a bird flew down, from the tallest tree
Looking for a listening ear, there was little Suzy
He told her ‘bout his travels, or what he had heard
He didn’t know know the impact of his words

He told her ‘bout the eagle, eating all the young
So she build a barn for them but then, but the wolf could kill them all

Prechorus
She took his advice
A jolly joker
Wasn’t very wise

Chorus
If she knew all there was to know about the Flemish Guy
No one told her to see the lies behind (Flemish Guy)
If she knew the true intentions of the Flemish Guy
Would she have kept her distance from his bad advice

It seemed like a coincidence, like the mole who won with cards
He was surprised when he, heard of her bad luck
So when he saw her again, he told her ‘bout a flood
He said the Owl knows all, so she should heed his words

So when the clouds rolled in she drove the cows on a hill
Thunder turned the milk sour, (talk) “and the flood?” never came

Still she trusted him to know, what would come to pass
They all tried to warn her, cursed her superstitious mind
So when the winter came, while the Geese were flying over
She tossed all of her blankets, still believing what he said
Winter will be like, a summer invitation,
Snowflakes were cooling heart, when Death came

Prechorus
She took his advice
A jolly joker
Wasn’t very wise

Chorus
If she knew all there was to know about the Flemish Guy
No one told her to see the lies behind (Flemish Guy)
If she knew the true intentions of the Flemish Guy

If he knew all she wanted from the Flemish Guy
All he did was fill her ears with lies (Flemish Guy)
She only wished she could spend some time with the Flemish Guy
He only brought her death and then there was her cat
